FSSP Turns Roman Baroque Church into Cafeteria

The Archconfraternity of the Most Holy Trinity of the Pilgrims organised a May 28 lunch “for the needy” by turning the 17th-century baroque Caravita Oratory, Rome’s English-language parish run by the Jesuits, into a lunchroom.

The group is affiliated with the Church of the Most Holy Trinity of the Pilgrims which is run by the Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP) that published pictures of the event on their web presence.

On its own webpage, the Archconfraternity thanks the parishioners for their monthly contribution that made this event possible.

Father Brice Meissonnier, the parish-priest at Trinity of the Pilgrims’, was present at the event and accompanied by former Palermo Archbishop, Cardinal Salvatore De Giorgi, 91, who displayed around his neck an award he received from the Order of Malta. He also wore a purple zucchetto despite being dressed like a Lutheran preacher (picture).

The restaurant church will doubtlessly smoothen the hatred of Francis and his faction against the Roman Rite.

Is someone able to clarify this for me? If the Caravita Oratory is run by the Jesuits, how is is affiliated to the FSSP? Is it an active Church of the NO Rite? Have the FSSP explained why they went along with this? Is it an active Church of the NO Rite? If not, has it been deconsecrated? Is this actually done these days to Churches no longer in use?

Either way, it increasingly appears that the FSSP have bought their temporary safety (I have no doubt it won't last) at way too high a price. They should have remained faithful and trusted God. It amazes me that they (or at least their leadership) don't appear to be able to see this.

Pavel, I was asking for facts, not a rant which doesn't answer my queries! However, to reply to it, I can only say that I'm not sure any group is without stain. The SSPX condoned the abortion-connected vaccines. The others are all under diocesan control, aren't they? It's only time before Francis comes calling and who knows what they'll all do. Depressing as it is (and believe me, I'm depressed, having no Church and no Priest) I don't think picking on one group really helps - and the FSSP do provide online Masses daily, although I've deserted for Barroux at present. I don't think ad hominem comments are useful, either. The TLM and the Sacraments are 'real' if the Priest has valid orders. I'd be delighted to find just one (Priest or Mass) who/which was accessible.

That's what you get when you're actually with the 2VC: a sham.
There are two ways to desecrate churches:
1. Those traditional ones made by Catholics in Catholic times, dedicate - even if only on occasion - to profane use.
2. Build horrible modernist churches.
Banquets are held in those of the first type. Those of the second type are already profaned.

Unbelievable!

The same church was another of those filled with Amazonian junk - including photographs of women suckling pig-like animals - during the "Amazon synod". It seems like a beautiful church that no-one has a liturgical use for. Sad. How Rome has fallen.
